You Can Afford
Tax-and-spend Republicans on the County Council want you to pay even more in property taxes while taking away the services residents rely on. Salt Lake County families shouldn't be forced to pay more for less. We need a leader with common financial sense to invest in working families: lowering costs for childcare and housing, putting our kids' future first, and protecting the clean air and clean water they deserve.
I'm Luke Maynes, and I'm running for County Council. As a systems analyst and proud union member, I’ve saved my company millions by prioritizing smart decisions and efficiency, and I'll bring that mindset to the council, ensuring that Salt Lake County invests in programs that enrich people's lives, all while keeping costs affordable.
Smart Growth for Our Future
-I will fight to restore and expand affordable childcare services.
-I will work with municipal governments to incentivize and invest in affordable housing initiatives across our county.
-I will explore new programs to conserve water, protect the Great Salt Lake, stop data centers, and restore our air quality.
-I will fight to protect the right to organize for everyone who works in Salt Lake County, to ensure that people who work in the county can afford to live here.
-I will find smart, efficient alternatives before supporting a tax increase, and ensure that any new investment delivers real services for the working families paying the bill.
